Shout outs to the latest Share Your Shutters winner: Chelsey Rushworth! Her winning submission to #ShareYourShutters features two rooms in her home decorated with stunning new Polywood plantation shutters that beautifully complement both her ornate window frames and modern decor.

Neutral Living Area With Shutters

Chelsey, who goes by Taste of Coffey on Instagram, is a Boston-based interior designer who definitely has an eye for color in her home design. Just one look at her photos shows how she mixes and matches whites, off-whites, and muted shades for a look that’s warm and calming, but fashionable all at the same time.

She even offered some advice for DIYers in San Jose and around the country:

  • Always have a color scheme in mind. When you go about decorating a room, you’re always able to play with color to customize it. Be sure to use hues from either your home’s color scheme or ones that will complement it.

  • Be adaptable in your use of colors. We use white shutters and most of our furniture is gray, either fabric or weathered wood. So we chose to mix in pops of color and white accents.

Not only does Chelsey pick some fantastic color combos, but her use of space in her design is fantastic too. From the placement of her chairs that lead the eyes vertically to the wall and her classic shutters, to the way her shelving lines up perfectly under the window, Chelsey’s house is fashion-forward, functional, and very livable without ever looking overdecorated.

As our #ShareYourShutters winner this season, Chelsey will receive a gift card to a Boston-area restaurant, in addition to having her designs featured here. To see more of her work, visit her personal site at

And if you think your new shutters look great enough to be a winner, share a photo on social media with the hashtag #ShareYourShutters. We want to see another San Jose home featured here!
