Craftsman Shutters and Other Custom Shutter Frames for San Jose06/26/2017Curtis Orton A misconception we hear occasionally from San Jose homeowners is that “all shutters look the same.” Let’s get rid of any confusion – that couldn’t be further from reality. Many people don’t realize just how many options you have when it comes to buying plantation shutters in San Jose, and what kind of impact those options can have. One of the most important of those options is the type of shutter frame you go with. San Jose Custom Shutter Frames The options available to you for shutter frames will depend on four things primarily: How your window operates. The depth of the window jamb. Whether you’ll have an outside mount or inside mount. Your own personal style. Some of our shutter frames are only available in certain materials, such as our Polywood® faux wood shutters, a few are exclusive to an inside or outside mount of a window, and some will have a look that may blend in perfectly with your existing trim, like our Craftsman frame shutters, great for Craftsman style homes and offered exclusively by Sunburst. Here are some of our most popular shutter frames among San Jose homeowners. Craftsman Frame Shutters - You can’t open a Better Homes and Gardens without seeing Craftsman style. This Sunburst-exclusive frame was built especially for Craftsman style houses and similar designs. A Craftsman frame gives you a clean and simple look, so no part of your home looks out of place compared to the rest. If echoing some historic home style is what you want, this is your shutter frame. Currently offered in Polywood and reclaimed wood shutters only. L-Frame Shutters - An L-frame is possibly the least complex and most practical frame we offer. They have a sleek, modern look, and tend to be the easiest to work around if your window has a peculiar size or shape. The L-frame can function as either an inside or outside mount, in case you want to keep your existing window trim, and is available in all of our different shutter types. Z-Frame Shutters - Z-frames are a widely-chosen style because they offer a stylized, elegant look on your window, much like bass or crown molding. The name “Z-frame” comes from the shape of its exterior, which is installed on an inside mount of a window jamb, but hugs the jamb and extends to the outside making a “Z” figure. That wraparound shape makes it so you don’t even need window trim around the window. Z-frames are available in every single one of our shutters. Decorative Frame Shutters - A decorative frame definitely lives up to its name. With lots of texture and an elegant shape, this frame is best used when you have no existing window trim, or if you want to cover your existing trim. Decorative frames are offered in Ovation and Polywood shutters only. Alongside your custom shutter frame, there are still a lot of options for you to further customize your shutters. All of our frames can add on a sill piece attachment, as well as other add-ons your installer can help you choose from.
